The ProQual Level 6 Diploma in Aesthetic Practice is an Ofqual-regulated qualification delivered through a combination of guided learning, written assessments, practical training and competency-based assessment.
 
What the qualification covers
All learners complete the following mandatory units:
Infection Control and Prevention for Cosmetic, Aesthetic and Needle-Related Treatments
Professional Practice for Aesthetic Practitioners
Anatomy and Physiology for Advanced Aesthetic Practice
 
Learners will also complete a minimum of three advanced treatment units.
 
Available pathways may include:
Microneedling treatments
Chemical peel treatments
Micro-needle mesotherapy
No-needle mesotherapy
Subcutaneous skin booster injections
Non-surgical fat-reduction treatments
 
Your treatment-unit pathway will be confirmed before enrolment based on your previous qualifications, experience and progression goals.

Learners will build a portfolio of evidence demonstrating their knowledge and practical competence. Assessment may include written assignments, professional discussions, treatment records, photographic evidence, assessor observations and reflective accounts.
 
 
Entry requirements
To access the taught pathway, learners must normally:
Be aged 18 or over
Hold an Ofqual-regulated Level 4 Certificate or Diploma in Aesthetic Practice, or an accepted equivalent qualification
 
Alternatively, applicants may be considered where they have at least five years of verifiable experience within the beauty industry and can demonstrate competence in the treatments covered by the Level 4 Aesthetic Treatments and Skin Science pathway.
 
 
Evidence may include relevant certificates, a current CV, insurance documentation and an employer or manager statement. A practical trade test may also be required before enrolment.
 
Learners must also hold a valid qualification in one of the following:
Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work
Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid
Level 3 Award in Adult Basic Life Support, AED and Management of Anaphylaxis
 
Applicants wishing to complete the qualification through Recognition of Prior Learning must normally have at least three years of verifiable experience providing the treatments included within their chosen Level 6 pathway.

Progression
Successful completion can support progression to the ProQual Level 7 Diploma in Aesthetic Practice and other advanced aesthetics qualifications.
